Salt & Cypress Kitchen and Cocktails

They scratch out everything here and it’s delicious! I had the ribeye and a Caesar salad, it was perfect! Friendly and kind service, everyone here will leave you wanting to come back for the atmosphere and especially the food! I would give them more stars if it were available. We’ve eaten dinner here twice and Salt and Cypress is so much better than the previous establishment. The service and food is great. However, the atmosphere is not conducive to fine dining. We’ve eaten on the first floor in the room off the bar and on the second floor. The lighting is similar to eating at a diner. The atmosphere is part of the experience. The upstairs room has an echo and the table next to us was very loud. Wonder if dim lightening affects the volume in a restaurant. Atmosphere plays a part for me in choosing a restaurant for a nice meal.

My wife and I had experienced the restaurant and had a very nice experience. Our waiter was Carson who was personable and professional. For our meal we ordered the Cajun Pasta with shrimp added and the Ceasar salad with shrimp. Both were so tasty to the palate. Portions were on par and the cocktails were excellent. This restaurant for now is a hidden gem for when it gets warmer, it'll be a challenge to get in. Manteo does not have to many restaurants with the quality, demeanor or professionalism such as this place. Talking with the locals we know, everything on the menu is delicious. Great service, food, and atmosphere. A true new gem for the Outer Banks and Manteo. The just off the boat Red Drum encrusted with crab meat and Parmesan melts in your mouth. Delicious. A+!

Dinner and cocktails at Salt and Cypress waa excellent. The food was well prepared, and the owners were very friendly and welcoming. We had the duck breast and cocktails while dining with family. The restaurant has a nice view of the sound, with Jockey’s Ridge visible in the distance. We would happily return!

Stopped in for lunch since downtown Manteo was busy with the parade. Amazing food! The She Crab Bisque and the Ceasar Chicken Wrap were delicious! I highly recommend the berry tart.

The food here was so good, and there were gluten free (gf) friendly options on the menu. Our server Chase was very accommodating, even with our party’s allergy needs. The shrimp and grits were perfect, and the noodle bowl was fire . Will definitely come back when the weather warms up to see the great view of the water.

First time here tonight. We started with a classic southern appetizer…fried green tomatoes topped with a creamy pimento cheese. I then enjoyed a delectable Chef’s Pasta special of local OBX shrimp and scallops scampi with a lemon butter fettuccini and buttered crostini bread. My wife enjoyed a wild mushroom gnocchi. The gnocchi was a beautiful texture and the sauce was a very rich and delicate tomato base. We finished our evening with a craft beer and for dessert we enjoyed fresh cannolis with chocolate chips. The owner made a point to come to our table and speak to us. It was a wonderful experience overall and we will definitely be back to enjoy all the wonderful items on the menu. I highly recommend!!! ***Update***. I enjoyed dinner so much I went back to Sunday brunch. We enjoyed the bang bang shrimp appetizer that was lightly fried to perfection. I enjoyed the short rib French dip on Ciabatta bread with French fries. My wife had the chicken wrap. Both were absolutely fantastic. The service, atmosphere, and food were all superb. Also, it was nice that it opened at 11am so we could eat right after check out time at the hotel. Absolutely top notch establishment.
